These Italian Sub Sliders are next-level delicious — think warm, toasty rolls loaded with melty cheese, savory deli meats, and a tangy, crunchy salad mix that pulls it all together. Perfect for parties, family dinners, or just because you’re craving something seriously satisfying.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
For the Salad Topping:
- 8 oz shredded lettuce
- ½ cup mayo
- ¼ cup red onion, diced
- ½ cup dill pickles, chopped
- ½ cup pickled banana peppers, chopped
The Meats (feel free to mix and match!):
- 4 oz deli turkey
- 4 oz corn beef
- 4 oz pepperoni or salami
The Rest:
- One 12-count pack of King’s Hawaiian Savory Butter Rolls
- 4–6 oz provolone cheese, sliced
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1 Tbsp dried Italian seasoning
Let’s Make Them:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Slice your rolls in half (keep the tops aside). Spread a good layer of mayo on the bottom halves and place them in an oven-safe tray or a 9×13 dish. Toast those in the oven for 7–10 minutes, or until they’re golden and crisp. Don’t skip this step — it keeps everything from getting soggy later!
- While those toast, chop up your deli meats and heat them in a skillet over medium heat. You just want them nice and warm.
- In a bowl, stir together your shredded lettuce, mayo, onion, pickles, and banana peppers. This topping is where the magic happens.
- Once your bottom buns are toasted, lay the provolone slices on top, then pile on your hot meats. Put the top buns back on.
- Mix the melted butter and Italian seasoning together and brush it over the tops of the buns.
- Pop the whole tray back into the oven for another 5–7 minutes until everything is warm and melty.
- Carefully lift the top buns, add a generous scoop of the salad topping onto the meat, then gently press the tops back on. Slice and serve right away!
A Few Notes From My Kitchen to Yours:
- Can’t find submarine dressing? Just mix 2 Tbsp olive oil, 2 tsp red wine vinegar, and 1 tsp Italian seasoning. Easy and tasty.
- Not a fan of mayo for toasting? Butter works just fine — but whatever you do, don’t skip the toasting.
- These sliders are best eaten fresh. If left to sit too long, they will get soggy.
- Prefer them cold? Go for it! These are still delicious straight from the fridge. And don’t be afraid to mix it up with your favorite meats or toppings — make it your own!
