ditch and switch,
Ditch the Fabric Sheets

One of the best decisions I ever made was the day I quit buying fabric sheets.
Just a big money scam all around.
Use the dryer sheet one time and then have to throw it away.
At the time I decided to switch from dryer sheets to wool dryer balls it was more to reduce waste, and save money. Not to "remove" toxic products from the home.
You see most of the dryer sheets on the market at the time, I wasn't able to use due to having sensitive skin.
Same goes for laundry detergent I have to use dye-free and fragrance-free or I break out in a rash.
So the "toxic" level really wasn't a concern for me since I was already using products that didn't contain the famous dreaded word "fragrance"
If you want to read more about what the opinion is on dryer sheets and fragrances you can click here and read more on that.
As I mentioned above I was more trying to save money and recycle than anything else.
Yes, there is a cost upfront that is more expensive than dryer sheets but in the long run, I truly believe you come out ahead with dryer balls.
For instance, using the dryer balls can cut your drying time down therefore you are also saving money by using the dryer less.
Secondly, you never run out of dryer sheets ever again. Seems like more times than not, I always ran out of dryer sheets when they weren't on sale.
Darn it, no excuses not to do laundry now. Maybe I need to rethink this whole dryer ball issue.
I mean really who keeps up with the number of dryer sheets they have?
Not a problem here, since my wool balls never run out.
Now no matter what your stance on chemicals in dryer sheets are, I think we can all agree that we can reduce the trash we use by switching to wool balls. This small step will take us closer to creating a "greener" environment and reduce our impact on the environment.
As for the people who are screaming but I need my clothes to smell nice.
We have you covered there as well. Simply add 2 to 4 drops of your Young Living Essential Oils to your wool dryer balls and your clothes come out smelling sweet, just like using fabric sheets.
Do you wanna know another plus to use wool balls over dryer sheets, you can change up the smell all the time!
Seriously think about it can you buy a variety pack of dryer sheets?
NOPE, I didn't think so.
But you can change the smell of your wool dryer balls. Here are a few ways I use the wool balls and Essential Oils.
Sheets- I use Lavender or Peace and Calming
Towels-I use Purification
Workout Clothes-Purification
Business Attire- Valor
Everything else-Citrus Fresh
Now, I must admit I LOVE to hang clothes on the clothesline. So I tend to hang the clothes on the line. Then once they are dry I will occasionally add the clothes to the dryer to run a few minutes to soften them up.
How do you dry your clothes?

I help women overcome their negative mindset and start remembering their light is worth shining!

Welcome! I'm so glad you found your way here.

Hey there! 👋

I'm Michelle — the voice (and occasional chef hat wearer) behind this little corner of the internet where family, fun, and food intersect... just not always in that order. 😄

If you've ever wondered how to slow down long enough to actually taste life (and not just the leftovers on your kid's plate), you're in the right place.

Here's the deal: I'm a busy mom with a heart full of curiosity and a kitchen full of half-used spices. Some days we're chasing sunsets, exploring small towns, and hopping on steam trains. Other days we're elbow-deep in pierogies, trying a new recipe, or laughing over whatever adventure the day throws our way.

I believe the best memories aren't always the expensive vacations or picture-perfect moments. More often than not, they're found around the dinner table, on a spontaneous road trip, or during an afternoon that wasn't planned at all.

Why This Blog Exists
I didn't start this blog to make you jump through hoops.

I started it because I was tired of everyone else doing it.

You know the drill. You find a recipe you're excited to make... and before you can even see the ingredients, you've dodged six pop-ups, watched three ads, and learned someone's entire life story.

Or you're told to "Comment COOKIE 🍪 for the recipe!" so a robot can send it to your inbox—and suddenly you're getting emails every day about things you never asked for.

No thanks.

Around here, I respect your time. If you click on a recipe, you'll get the recipe. If I recommend a place to visit, I'll tell you why it's worth the trip. No endless scrolling. No keyword games. No nonsense.

Life is busy enough.

I'm not here to waste your time—I'm here to help you enjoy it.

So if you're looking for recipes without the endless scrolling or pop-ups, family adventures that won't break the bank, honest recommendations, or just a reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things, you've found your people.

Grab a cup of coffee, stay awhile, and make yourself at home.

I'm so glad you're here. ❤️
