If you are looking for a way to reconnect to your body, I suggest trying to sync your life with your menstrual cycle. This concept can also help if you are looking to increase your energy.
The concept is basic, no need to overdo it. Or need to know it all.
As a woman, we know all too well about our “monthly visitor.”
We know the days leading up to our period we may be irritable and short fused. And for the days following the start of our period, we will probably have cravings, feel bloated and miserable.
However, as miserable as we feel, we often push through, keep going, and pretend we are all right. We’re convinced we do not need rest. You may even resent that time of the month.
But did you know that every week surrounding your cycle, your body (hormones) leaves clues for you for what it needs?
Have you ever noticed that you feel differently about yourself throughout the month? One week you feel like a bad ass and the next you feel fat and ugly? One week you feel like the Energizer bunny and the next you can barely function?
These are signs that your body is moving through different phases, also known as hormonal changes. Are you ready to learn what each cycle means and how you to treat yourself during that phase?
The start of your menstrual cycle is called winter. Followed by spring, then summer, and yes, fall ends your cycle.
Winter Phase is the first 5 days of your period. This timeframe is when your energy is the lowest. You are probably dragging. You are likely feeling more introverted while being introspective. Ideal season for recharging and hibernation. Image nature during the winter and season and try to mimic that during these 5 days.
Days 6-11 are called the spring phase. Spring brings back your energy. You feel more confident and powerful. A great time to plan your next moves. During this phase, you are more likely to risks. Save those big decisions for this timeframe.
Summer is here, and you are glowing. You are the most magnetic during 12-20. You look and feel attractive in this phase. Maybe even a little frisky…. This phase is great to focus on making connections.
Fall phase is the last 7 days of the 28-day cycle. By this time, you may experience mood swings, cravings, and a rise in your anxiety. The famous PMS week you likely already know about. This phase is a season of harvest where you appreciate what you accomplished. Pause, reflect, and then advance when ready.
I am no expert on this matter. I discovered this concept when I was desperate to do anything to feel better.
There are many layers in each phase. Start with the basics. Once you have mastered those concepts, then add more awareness. I promise no need to go in 100% to feel a difference. For me, doing the bare minimum is where I discovered the most healing aspects.
