Super Yummy Homemade Chocolate Granola
The best part about making your own granola is, you get to control the ingredients. This is especially handy when you or someone you love has a food allergy. This recipe is quick and easy.

Check out our favorite chocolatey granola.

Ingredients:
 3 cups rolled oats
¾ cups coconut flakes
½ cup cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon Pink Himalayan Salt
½ Coconut Sugar or Turbinado Sugar
⅔ cup melted coconut oil
⅓ cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1.5 cups chocolate chips
Sea Salt for finishing

How to prepare:
  1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Toss the oats, coconut flakes, cocoa powder, salt, and ⅓ cup of sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Melt the coconut oil.
  4. Mix the melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla together.
  5. Pour the liquid over your dry ingredients and mix well.
  6. Spread the granola evenly into a baking sheet
  7. Bake for 50 minutes. Check periodically to stir the granola and ensure your granola is cooking thoroughly.
  8. After 50 minutes, take the granola out of the oven. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top of the granola and return to the oven for 5 to 10 minutes.
  9. Remove the granola from the oven and sprinkle the remaining sugar and salt over the granola.
  10. Let the granola cool down for about 1 to 2 hours.
  11. Store the granola in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
For a little more spice, try mixing things up…

Add almonds, cashews, pecans, or peanuts to the mix.

Or add some fruit like cranberries, raisins, apricots.

Oh and don’t forget White chocolate chips or peanut butter chips work well in the recipe also.

The mix-up possibilities are endless. You might even be able to create one for each member of your family.

Make a batch today, and let me know what combination you ended up with.

I help women overcome their negative mindset and start remembering their light is worth shining!

Welcome! I'm so glad you found your way here.

Hey there! 👋

I'm Michelle — the voice (and occasional chef hat wearer) behind this little corner of the internet where family, fun, and food intersect... just not always in that order. 😄

If you've ever wondered how to slow down long enough to actually taste life (and not just the leftovers on your kid's plate), you're in the right place.

Here's the deal: I'm a busy mom with a heart full of curiosity and a kitchen full of half-used spices. Some days we're chasing sunsets, exploring small towns, and hopping on steam trains. Other days we're elbow-deep in pierogies, trying a new recipe, or laughing over whatever adventure the day throws our way.

I believe the best memories aren't always the expensive vacations or picture-perfect moments. More often than not, they're found around the dinner table, on a spontaneous road trip, or during an afternoon that wasn't planned at all.

Why This Blog Exists
I didn't start this blog to make you jump through hoops.

I started it because I was tired of everyone else doing it.

You know the drill. You find a recipe you're excited to make... and before you can even see the ingredients, you've dodged six pop-ups, watched three ads, and learned someone's entire life story.

Or you're told to "Comment COOKIE 🍪 for the recipe!" so a robot can send it to your inbox—and suddenly you're getting emails every day about things you never asked for.

No thanks.

Around here, I respect your time. If you click on a recipe, you'll get the recipe. If I recommend a place to visit, I'll tell you why it's worth the trip. No endless scrolling. No keyword games. No nonsense.

Life is busy enough.

I'm not here to waste your time—I'm here to help you enjoy it.

So if you're looking for recipes without the endless scrolling or pop-ups, family adventures that won't break the bank, honest recommendations, or just a reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things, you've found your people.

Grab a cup of coffee, stay awhile, and make yourself at home.

I'm so glad you're here. ❤️
