My Simple 2-Ingredient Trick for Soft, Bouncy Curls
If you have curly hair, you already know it can have a mind of its own.

One day your curls look amazing. The next day you look like you stuck your finger in a light socket. It’s rude, honestly.

I started using a super simple mix on my hair, and it has made such a difference. My curls stay tighter, bouncier, and way less frizzy without that stiff, crunchy feeling that so many products leave behind.

And the best part? It only uses two ingredients.
What I use:
Aloe vera gel
Coconut oil

I usually use solid coconut oil because it tends to be a better value, but liquid works just fine too.

How I use it:
1–2 pumps of aloe vera gel
A small dab of coconut oil

I mix them together in my hands, apply it to wet hair, scrunch my curls, and style like I normally would.

That’s it. Nothing fancy. No long routine. No pile of products covering the bathroom counter.

Since switching to this simple DIY hair gel, I have gotten more compliments on my curls than ever before. I also love that it feels simple and natural with just two ingredients.

If your curls have been feeling dry, frizzy, or hard to manage, this may be worth trying. Small steps add up, and sometimes the simplest fix works the best.

I help women overcome their negative mindset and start remembering their light is worth shining!

Welcome! I'm so glad you found your way here.

Hey there! 👋

I'm Michelle — the voice (and occasional chef hat wearer) behind this little corner of the internet where family, fun, and food intersect... just not always in that order. 😄

If you've ever wondered how to slow down long enough to actually taste life (and not just the leftovers on your kid's plate), you're in the right place.

Here's the deal: I'm a busy mom with a heart full of curiosity and a kitchen full of half-used spices. Some days we're chasing sunsets, exploring small towns, and hopping on steam trains. Other days we're elbow-deep in pierogies, trying a new recipe, or laughing over whatever adventure the day throws our way.

I believe the best memories aren't always the expensive vacations or picture-perfect moments. More often than not, they're found around the dinner table, on a spontaneous road trip, or during an afternoon that wasn't planned at all.

Why This Blog Exists
I didn't start this blog to make you jump through hoops.

I started it because I was tired of everyone else doing it.

You know the drill. You find a recipe you're excited to make... and before you can even see the ingredients, you've dodged six pop-ups, watched three ads, and learned someone's entire life story.

Or you're told to "Comment COOKIE 🍪 for the recipe!" so a robot can send it to your inbox—and suddenly you're getting emails every day about things you never asked for.

No thanks.

Around here, I respect your time. If you click on a recipe, you'll get the recipe. If I recommend a place to visit, I'll tell you why it's worth the trip. No endless scrolling. No keyword games. No nonsense.

Life is busy enough.

I'm not here to waste your time—I'm here to help you enjoy it.

So if you're looking for recipes without the endless scrolling or pop-ups, family adventures that won't break the bank, honest recommendations, or just a reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things, you've found your people.

Grab a cup of coffee, stay awhile, and make yourself at home.

I'm so glad you're here. ❤️
