Wow. This one was a struggle!
It took 3 days of writing to get an article out. When I was done I disliked. It didn't feel right. The words were hard to find, and nothing seemed to flow.
Which is very unusual for me. Once I am in the zone, I am there. But I never felt like I was fully engaged. I walked away after every writing session discouraged and unhappy.
Saturday night I was determined to finish the article. I crammed words every where. I finally was defeated and went to bed with the notion of getting up early Sunday to complete the article.
Sunday morning rolls around (4am) and I hit that computer like a beast. I scratched everything I wrote over the last 3 days and started fresh. Needless to say I wrote the entire article that morning before church. The words just flowed through my fingers.
For real, I would read over what I just typed and think where in the world did that come from? I was writing for him and not my own glory. That is why it was so easy.
At church that very Sunday I got the confirmation I needed. The special music was about storms and keeping you safe until they pass over. The craft my youngest made during Children's church was a rainbow.
Talk about having a sense of peace wash over you. Quit forcing things.
